Naturesse
Indan Nut palm (Adaka) leaves fall naturally from the tree continually through its life. Once regarded as refuse and left to rot or to be burned with rubbish, these leaves are now collected in a small village in south west India by farming families and taken to a production facility in their region whree they are cleaned and steam pressed into trays, plates or bowls at 120C. Palm leaf products are CO2 neutral in terms of combustion and can also be disposed of via fermentation or composting. This also means that each product is unique and naturally beautiful, both to the eye and to the touch.
Our palm leaf products are taste neutral, watertight and both fat and heat rsistent. Amazingly, palm leaf products can go in the oven up to 220C making them ideal to bake with. They are also tolerant to microwave use as well as freezing to -18C degrees.
On top of it all, they are far more stable than any other single use products we have tried.
All our palm leaf products are food approved for single use. Should you be tempted to wash and reuse them, we have good experiences with hand washing and quick wiping. Please note that a palm leaf product may change in shape when washed. It must always be completely dry and stored in a dry cupboard as moisture and humidity causes the leaf to begin to break down.
All palm leaf products are swan labeled and are compliant with food standard EN 13432 as well as the Nordic Ecolable no. 5047 09. Production takes place under highest SA8000 certification where extensive social consideration ensures a living wage, controlled working hours and conditions, no child labour use and no employment discrimination.
Palm leaf products cannot be certified by FSC simply because it is not a matter of concern as no trees are felled, and the palm leaves are collected without any damage to flora and fauna.
NB! All palm leaves are unique and may differ slightly from the picture in shape but will be in the same size range
